In my opinion, the Waze app already attempts to do everything the Google app does and more, just not as well in some cases. Waze attempts to do POI search, contact search, automated traffic (flow data), manual traffic (social reporting), multi-route calculation, and turn by turn navigation. I don't view Waze as "less is more." It plays in every sandbox that Google's app plays in and then some. There are just some things that Google does better, and other things that Google doesn't do at all. Some things Waze does better. Combining that all into one app is something that I don't feel will add any additional features overall that Waze isn't already trying to do. It will simply improve the shortcomings that exist.

I just heard a news report that the FTC is investigating the sale. Well, well, well. Waze has hit the big time. Google may be paying a lot more than $1.5B, in fines.

Mabye then we can get some updated aerials imaging for editing?! Right now it's very outdated. I think the last google map updated aerials in my area is around jan/feb of this year.

???!!! Right now in PHX the aerials are (in the map editor) atleast a year old?! At least...maybe more

All I have to say is Wow, I'm speechless! Will have to follow this development closely And the markets are tanking...couldn't be at a worse time
