Well, my phone automatically updated Waze last week at some point, and lost all my pre-configured favorites, including home and work, in the process. All other settings were retained.
Yesterday, it auto-updated again (even though I do have this turned off ), and it retained everything I had set up since the last update. When I got in the truck this morning, though, it asked me if I was on my way to work and had the correct address for it, even though it doesn't display in the navigation window - it still says "touch to set up" for the Work address.
and the drop down notifications, as noted above, disappear to quick to do anything with, like within 3 seconds it seems. I was stopped at a light this morning, and one dropped down, but by the time I put my coffee cup down and reached for the phone to dismiss the pop-up, it was gone. I noticed a couple others during my drive, but they were gone by the time I focused on the phone, so I had no opportunity to thank the Wazer that reported the issue.

OK, this is really weird.
As I stated earlier, Waze automatically updated to 3.7.2 sometime this week. It worked, mostly, up until I was on my way home last night. It worked just fine from work to an appointment, and from there to Costco. Leaving Costco, Waze produced a hard crash and rebooted my phone. After that, it lost all settings and favorites, and could not follow me on the map - it was very, very jumpy with the map moving back and forth, zooming in and out.
When I got home, I uninstalled Waze from the Play store, rebooted, cleaned the cache, rebooted again, and reinstalled from the Play store. Much to my surprise, my settings and all of my favorites appeared - even the ones I had set up on the iPad that I hadn't set up on the phone, and duplicates where they were configured on both devices.
One bug that did not get worked out - I can get no audio other than from the phone speaker. I have a 3 year old HTC Wildfire S that does not have the greatest speaker on it, and the holder I mount it in has the speaker right up against a rubber pad. In other words, I can't hear the built-in speaker in the truck. So, I bought an external, amplified speaker to mount in a cupholder, but Waze won't route the audio out the headphone/line out jack. When it's plugged in, Waze is silent, but as soon as I unplug it Waze starts using the phone speaker.

Whoops....scratch that - that was my fault. I had the line to the external speaker plugged into the headphone out jackdan_in_TX wrote: One bug that did not get worked out - I can get no audio other than from the phone speaker. This is a "feedback" thread, in which each post is assumed to stand on it's own as official feedback for the 3.7 release of Waze on Android. If someone is responding to another, they should quote, or at least name the person they are responding to, to show the connected thoughts.a4bolek wrote:How can anyone participate in this thread? It is a mix of completely disconnected thoughts, responses to questions that don't exist, posts are not in order, what a freaking mess. WTF

I was having about as many issues as you are after the auto-update, but I managed to fix it. Since your phone is stock, though, I'm not sure you have the capability that I did.tripecollie wrote:That being said, I still have several bad functionality bugs with the app....
First, I uninstalled Waze from the Play Store - not the phone itself. I rebooted the phone after this was complete, and cleaned the memory cache to ensure Waze was truly gone - I didn't take the step of verifying it's subdirectories were gone, too, but that has also been mentioned. I rebooted the phone again after this step, then re-installed Waze from the Play Store, and it's been working fine ever since (well, a couple random reboots here and there, and the loosing of either the GPS signal or the data connection....)

I don't even have "Maps" show up in my consumer list...a4bolek wrote:Funny, how ever since the "merge" Waze does not show as battery consumer. It is considered part of the "Maps".

Pretty sure that's one of the known issues for this release.jerry9254 wrote:Display controls 'overlap' on Galaxy S4.
Question, though, simply out of curiosity - why are you using it in landscape mode? On my S3 (which has only a slightly smaller screen), landscape mode doesn't show me enough of the map IMHO. While in navigation mode, the map is all but unusable because the next turn instruction is covering the top third of the map. I feel that in portrait mode I can see more of the map and get a better idea of conditions coming up - as long as there are no major turns in my near future, that is

The question isn't "can it be fixed" because any IT professional knows that it can with some code tweaking. The question is "will it be fixed". That one hasn't been answered yet.absolut86550 wrote:I found the same issues, speedometer quite small, and hidden by report button.

Discovered a weird issue this past weekend when I got my sis (mandaboz - new user, please welcome her aboard if you see her around) hooked on Waze. She has a Samsung Galaxy S3 on AT&T with 4.1.2. I have the exact same thing, but on T-Mobile. Stock Android on both of them.
On her phone, if she exits Waze by just hitting the back button and saying "Yes" to the "Do you want to shut down Waze?" question, or if Waze turns itself off after it senses it's being walked around, Waze will restart with the black screen and the two buttons at the bottom, and neither button will respond to anything. The only way to get out of it is to go into the app settings menu and force close the app, then restart. If she shuts it down through the menu shutdown option, it's fine.
