Construction Road type

Post by blipadouzi
I think it's important for us to have road type "Under Construction" or "Construction ahead" or something like that.

As it is, we have a road closure type "Construction", but what if a major 6 lane road has construction on it and the road is reduced to 2 lanes due to construction and the work is scheduled to last 4 months? The road isn't technically closed, but yet it's not entirely driveable either, depending on how far you need to travel on it and if any better routes are available, and using the Hazard Construction tool only re-routes traffic for at most 2 hours.

Too true... thanks for the feedback guys.

as invented mentioned, a closure of some but not all lanes of traffic should result in the traffic reports showing up, then Waze choosing an alternate route.

There's no perfect solution, though... because eventually there will be no wazers on that route, then it won't know that it's slower.

You'll note that we don't specify the number of lanes when we're editing the map... so the algorithm doesn't care about that.

Also, ultimately, two lanes can have the same speed as six -- as long as the volume of traffic is reduced to one-third.

At that point, it's expected that Wazers travelling through the area will generate speed data that is well below expected speeds and this would help everyone else. Unfortunately it doesn't work well.
