You will never improve a discussion by telling other participants that their aim is unrighteous.

Uh.... "Everyone who left the room, please raise your hands!".

Truth is: we don't know due to lack of transparent usage statistics. But Germany was always far behind in mapping and this incident does not exactly attract new Wazers in droves.

you really think you'll have accidents because of speeding with 5km/h over?
no, but losing money...

in germany, there aren't that many waze users. now, just when i convinced my friends how great waze is, they take the speed cams out.

why would one use gmaps to find a location and go to waze, enter the adress and all that, when you can just stay in gnav?
it has waze's warnings and no speed cams just like waze.

what's the right to not be breaking the law?
if you really think you are right about that, then what would you say if speed cam warnings would be legal?
it's funny how people obey to the law or go what they think is the law.

in germany, it's allowed to use the high beam if nobody gets dazzled. but a lot of germans think, its only allowed outside the cities.
now, if there is a road in a city, where they need more light, the, choose to not use the high beam because it's illegal. but it's not. they do what they think is illegal just to be a good citizrn and obey.

in germany there was a discussion about making speed cam warning legal, so people know there the dangetous spots are. it'd be curious to know how the argumentation would change then... :-D

Why speedcams ?

To force people slowing down

Why warn speedcams ?

To force people slowing down. But save money.

it's also illegal to not buckle up. imagine the car would refuse to start without the belt.
it's about being able to decide for yourself.

but it seems that we are just repeating the same thing over and over again.

is waze even aware that there are a few people waiting for a statement??

The actual waze's statement is to disable speedcams. Cf the shirli's post.

Which more official statement you need ?

When the actual statement Will change, Waze Will post a new announce.

Milkyway35, Waze said they are looking for options and even asked for sources for judicial guidance on the matter, that was a few days after the deletion. I do not see your point in asking the community to shut up, what is your benefit in this?

"To post an announcement when they are ready" is definitely not the proper way to deal with a community that contributes to your product.

It is totaly overdone to remove the speedcamera feature from the map in germany. The regulatory framework is not cleare and there are no judgements at the moment.

I suggest that you should have to decide online on the webpage in your user profile if you like to have speed cameras in the app or not. That will give legeal security to those who are not willing to risk a fine and give all others the chance to use the feature.
