Can it be fixed ?
The question isn't "can it be fixed" because any IT professional knows that it can with some code tweaking. The question is "will it be fixed". That one hasn't been answered yet.
I am having the same issue.
It will be fixed, sometimes in the future, but probably on the next major release like 3.8.

I am sad to switch from iphone5 to HTC One because I am a waze lover and I have been using waze on Iphone5 for many months. Now i Just converted to HTC One M7 and Waze experience on this phone sucks. I don't know whether it is this specific phone or just Android in General. I was actually hoping that it would look nicer on the the bigger screen real estate of HTC one compared to iphone 5

1) The Font size for street names is so small that it is un-readable when phone is mounted on the windsheild and so are the icons.
2) The iphone app has this feature in setting "Prefer Bluetooh" which would send the voice prompts over the my car's audio when connected with bluetooh. This works really nice on iPhone even when i am listening to satellite radio, the prompts automatically take the precedence and interrupt the radio and once done the radio is back on. There is no such option on HTC one Android app. And it is a big bummer....

So please please please... take care of the two above things in the next release.

Please share if anyone else agrees with me. I would like to know i am not going crazy or something.

Thanks.

Repeatable bug. (I looked through the thread, and didn't see it.)

Twice now, I've booted my Droid 4 running CM-Nightly, and fired up Waze straight away (before the SD card is checked and ready).

(Why did I reboot? Because my phone had gone wonky, and stopped working. Why did I fire up Waze straight away? Because I was driving, and still needed directions -- especially now that my phone has gone wonky and needed rebooting.)

This causes Waze to become confused. It complains about something ("missing settings?" dunno, I'm busy driving and stuff when this happens) and fails.

Restarting Waze brings me to the welcome screen for new users. All of my settings are gone. The client has no idea who I am. I'm asked to either connect with Facebook or create an account.

I already have an account.

So I connect with Facebook to avoid the "create an account" option (there is no "cancel,") and skip the tutorial-esque steps as efficiently as I can, go to navigate, and my previous routes are also gone: Everything personal about the app apparently disappears.

Here's what I'd like to happen:

At least, that it doesn't somehow forget the user settings once the SD card does become available: I can't safely go through the above steps when Wazing (driving!), without stopping, and who wants to stop just to satisfy a bug in an app that is supposed to make the drive faster? Deleting (or forever ignoring temporarily-unavailable) settings is very bad behavior in any app: Users should only ever have to log in and configure Waze one time per device.

At best, that it waits a reasonable period for the SD card to become available (which takes upwards of ~20 seconds after boot, depending on the card and what's on it and whatever else the device is busy doing at bootup), and then proceeds normally.

And no matter what (consider this repeatable bug report #2): There should be an option for existing users to log into an existing account when everything goes wrong: When I'm an existing user, I neither want to connect with Facebook, nor create a new account. I just want to start off where I was, whether because I have a new device or because my settings have been trounced by forces beyond my control.

(I will cheerfully trigger this bug one time, and one time only, and take precise notes in a controlled setting for anyone interested and capable of fixing it. But I strongly suspect that it is easily repeatable on any Android device with Waze (or its data) an SD card: Just fire up Waze during the "Preparing SD Card..." notification, and prepare for a PITA when it all falls apart.)

Thank you for your consideration. Please let me know if I can clarify further.

Perhaps a better question is: Is it an app problem or an operating system problem when an app forgets it's user settings, forever, just because a disk is not Mounted when the program is started?

I can't think of any other applications that have behaved in this way in my time using computers.

Newbie here - Only using Waze for the police notifications. Have a new Escort 9500ix with Escort Live that is so buggy now that we are looking for an alternative. I run EL in the bacground, my det beeps if someone spots a cop and now run Waze on top.
Here in SE PA the local cops do not use radar - just vascar that is not detectable - basically they time you from line to line.
Only ran past my first cop notification today and I did not get a popup or audible alert, BUT turned around and went past again and this time I received both. Is it possible that the person marked it driving that direction or was it just a fluke.

I have noticed seeing other wazers, but maybe 30% of the time their icon just stops - seems like a refresh problem. Although my icon is accurate and everything else seems ok.
Sometimes saying someone is at a cretain intersection for a while - without any other vehicles being there. Has anyone else noticed this ?

My bad I assumed the button was there so the intent was. Hadn't got round to transferring my tasker across to this phone.

Confirmed intent is not working. And cannot find one using the same method I originally discovered it with.

But you did - and we do not mean task killer, we are talking about the public close intent. So why the change?
