Misspelled City Help

Post by NEPAHXC
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat ... TTTFTTTTFT

The Attached Permalink shows the City of "Hamlin" but instead of it being spelled this way "Hamlin" With a "n" at the end It has a "m". Spelled "Hamlim". The Correct Spelling is H A M L I N and this is Driving me bonkers because it is preventing me from labeling and naming the roads & landmarks fully and correctly. Also when i check the cities tab to color and show all cities, the town isn't even bordered/highlighted correctly. If anyone can help me please do. I am the Area Manager of this area and not being able to correct all the issues is annoying me.

One more thing, when are we going to be able to label house numbers?

I changed a few names to Dixonville. Every instance of "Dicksonville" should be corrected. "Dicksonville" is not an alternate name and should never be used anywhere.

When I search for Hamlin PA I find two locations. Your link, and this area here. Nothing named Hamlin here that I can find, but this is probably what is giving you your "too far" warnings. Waze staff should be able to resolve this for you.

Could be a landmark with that town name or just some old data hanging around the database that needs to be cleaned up.

Why the hell would you do that when it violates every documented solution and best practice? Please go back and fix it according to our community standards.

Who's feigning anything. You've been around enough and done enough editing that you should know better.
Here is one cogent thread
Here is another.

Plus, you should know that the regional coordinator (that's me, for PA) is responsible for clearing smudges and resolving city name conflicts.

daknife, I'm sorry I jumped on you. I was impolite, and I read your post too quickly. I agree that the roles are murky, and I think we should do something about it. Please accept my apologies.

Township and Borough are used to relieve conflicts only. Then if there are more than one township of the same name do we append the county.

The same thing happens in Tipton, PA. But when I search the map (either WME or other online mapping sites) there is only one Tipton in PA. Any explanation for that?

I just re-read my post and realized I had a Monday morning issue. I meant to refer to Tyrone, PA, not Tipton. Right now it is Tyrone(2) on the map and I can't name any segments Tyrone because of the standard 'too far from the city it was added to' error. I can't find any other location in PA that is named Tyrone so I'm not sure where this other Tyrone is located.
