Does this script still do that clever thing where it'll add the county suffix on the end of the city name if it is not unique? I don't think we want this any more, as the city names only need to be unique within the county.

If possible, can you detect duplicates within the county (about 900), and add the District name as the suffix?

It might also be worth mentioning here that (usually) only editors who are rank 4 and above can create new cities. Could/should the script also reflect that restriction? Or does it over complicate things?

Yes. The big hole surrounded by proper counties ;)
Twister-UK wrote:The next question is then what do we take as the District name within London?
Depends on what data you have, I guess. Using the District would be more local, and consistent with the rest of the country, but only if the data you have includes it. If you only have the London Borough for those cities, then that will suffice. I think I prefer District names though.

Some examples to consider:
  • "Belmont (Harrow)" vs. "Belmont (Sutton)"
  • "Hayes (Bromley)" vs. "Hayes (Hillingdon)"
...which are interestingly the only examples of duplicates currently mapped in the county (pending name change), suggesting that "Greater London" is sufficient size to avoid much of the duplication.

Now that we've finished the PRN project, is this feature still required? It's possible to load the Primary Routes separately using Geometry extension if required.

Just done a quick test (after installing it first) and it seem to work fine.
So is it just a case of putting the code in a text file, saving it as .crx (IIRC) and then double-clicking to install as an extension?

Hi Chris,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is it possible to do a crosscheck of data to find roads that exist in Open Data that don't exist in Waze together with co-ordinates. This would be useful for new roads in particular or ones which have just never been added in WME. At the moment I only find these by browsing the map or local knowledge.

I assume you're already aware the 'apply to properties' button isn't working again?

My bad. I'd assumed it was like the Tampermonkey scripts which auto updated.

Sorry if this has been mentioned in the previous 61 pages but is it a known issue that street names are only wrong at certain zoom levels on the OS map? For example, the script highlighted St. Anthony's Close as being wrong and said it should have been "St. Athony's Close". Naturally I thought that was wrong so had a look at the OS map via the script link and it shows "St. Athony's Close" when zoomed out but zoom in a bit and it is corrected:
