Editor levels are absolutely necessary for locking things down!

The waze ranks ("Levels", officially, i.e. Baby, GrownUp, Warrior, etc...) are strictly for amusement value. And those levels are part of the drive of the short-lived wayward editors - "Crown and Out" I'm starting to refer to them as - once they get to Royalty level (aka: The Almighty Crown™) through massive inappropriate POI/Landmark edits/additions, the editing stops as there's nothing else for them to publicly achieve.

you can have my crown if the thread quits showing Active on my "view your posts" list. Your ideas are welcome, but they arent new. You can notice it by checking the rank and points forum, where you have been writing lately. The issue is it would be a low priority update for waze, because they choose other things to do first. In the meanwhile, let's be grateful about the drivers candy, it had been asked for a long time.

I think this is a great idea, because it gives a more consistent reward to editors that aren't in it for the Crown. While it is nice to have additional avatars to choose from, the Rank 2 robot is my favorite and I'll be sticking with it. I think Waze should keep implementing these kinds of things that streamline the editing experience. The spotty rewards, while nice when I saw them, don't motivate my desire to edit, and they shouldn't.

So, after reading all your comments I understand that you wish to see more gaming stuff for drivers in the client.
I will check with the Product team if we can add more achievements and road goodies for drivers.

Back to the original discussion: the suggested solution was to change number of points per edit from 1.5 to 3 and in addition to leave the multi-time achievement for each 3000 edits. If you think 1500 points is too much (+0.5 points per edit) - we can discuss the exact number.

I think it pretty much covers all the issues - editors are credited with 3 points per edit AND we keep the multi-time achievement.

When will these changes go in effect?

I like +0.5 points per edit :D

Maybe in the future "buy" other moods or other things with points.

UPDATE:
the first step in the process is complete:
All edits from now are credited with 3 points. The candy is withheld.
In the upcoming days we will reimburse editors who didn't take all the candies with all the missing points. After it's done we will re-enable the candy with the new parameters - 300 points per 3000 edits.
Regarding more gaming stuff for drivers - I informed the product team that there's a huge demand for this and they will check what can be done. (also updated in the original message of the thread)

Thanks!
Shirli

This has anything to do with the editing points are not updated in the dashboard?
there are a lot of days since the editing points were not updated in the dashboard for some (or all) users.
If yes, when we could aspect that editing points will be up to date? thanks

Waze is investigating that. You wont lose your map edit count, so it is just a matter of time.
