Android: [Q] Routing TTS to BT handsfree (external App)?

Post by OiledAmoeba
Hi!

Does anybody knows a app that is able to route the TTS to my car speaker using hands-free-protocol?
I found several apps that could route to hands-free but all of them never close the link unless they are closed...

I think about a solution like "car playing FM -> app recognize sound on media-channel -> open link to hands-free -> playing TTS (or any sound else) -> app recognize mute on media-channel -> closing link -> car returns to FM"

Anyway, I hope waze implements this feature asap. (I've had heard that iOS-version already has this feature...)

Short answer, not to my knowledge... I'll find a link to an old thread on this when I'm not on my phone.

here you go

link jumps to my post on the topic after I did some research on it.

Long story short, it works on iPhone but not on Android, and it doesn't look promising that that will change any time soon, unless you want to use either A2DP or an aux-in from your phone as your in car entertainment source. Also, Waze is really annoying when you're trying to make or receive a phone call in the car :/
