The points aren't OK. Missing 750 candy for each 500 edits... ;)

Read the forum long ago, thanx... But there are still missing points for the time between removing 750 pt. candies and editors being rewarded with 3 pts per edit... :?

Or did I miss that one?

The points, and also candy´s, are the things different from the waze to other solutions. also there is the particular user in mind have fun ...

So it is not possible to create, for the free and more official performance of the user, either by driving or edit, this bonus program to maintain?

But apparently it is possible many 2-7 point-candy´s on every fifth street to place, as now olympia currently ...?

Also this requires a certain effort for programming and points system.

Please explain the difference to us.

Don't you mean, "Leave the multi-time achievement for each 500 edits?" I thought that's what it was originally. Means the candies come up more often, even if lower value each candy. :-)

I agree with more points for useful edits and less points for less useful edits.

The question becomes, how does Waze determine a useful and less-useful edit? A simple turn restriction can be considered a huge edit in some places and minor in others. A new road can be considered a huge edit where it links two towns but minor if it's a pointless turning lane. They won't have humans looking at each edit.

I agree, on the face of it, it seems like a 'simple fix', but I like that it requires that editors actually drive to get those points. I don't really care about point farming myself, I just want an accurate map, (honestly I wish I could disable the candies, it cuts over my Pandora when I'm driving,) but if others are going to be point farmers, the best thing they can do is simply drive the roads and give Waze more data to work with.

So I neither like the candies and the noise they make, nor do I farm for points myself anyway, but I'm still against this change because of the behavior it encourages in point farmers.

Please consider reverting this decision and simply fixing the bug.

The only way you can reward people for activities without encouraging those to 'farm' said activities even when they don't apply is to find some way of punishing people for when they do 'bad' edits.

Otherwise there is essentially no consequence to farming. The only reason NOT to farm is ethics or a lack of desire for points or I suppose in some, the fear of getting 'caught' being a bad editor and banned completely. This is why things like turn restrictions gets done so often since nobody can 'catch' the editor that did it. =/

Subtracting 10x the point value when the edit is later undone by an editor that ranks higher than you could work. That's just a random idea though, the concept in general would require more thought. I still think some kind of 'history' and the ability for other editors to 'undo' the edits of those before them (rather than just submit another edit that reverts the change) would be beneficial, at which point having your edit 'undone' would be the perfect criteria for point penalties.

Heck there's been times when I hit the save button a bit too quickly and wish I could undo my own edits. =/
