u-turn to go straight?

Post by aarakes
This is one I have not seen before. I have seen the right turn, plus u-turn to go left routing before, but I have never seen this: right, u-turn, right just to go straight. All the restriction are good.

I suspect this might be a good location to change it to a bowtie to prevent this from happening.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks, I see your point that the bowtie won't fix anything. I am skimming through the other thread to see what has been going on. All of a sudden lately, I have been seeing this problem all over Central Florida down to Fort Lauderdale. It gets tiring explaining to frustrated app users that this is what the routing algorithm is doing. The only way I know to stop it is to change the app preferences to shortest instead of fastest, but that defeats the purpose of using Waze.

I will hold off on any more comments on this thread and review the other similar threads and add there if the problems persist.

These happen just like the right/Us to turn left or the straight/U/rights to turn left. Other examples are in this thread. I'm not sure what you are proposing using the bowtie for. It seems that the U-turn is allowed and you could just use a turn restriction to dissallow it if its not. Waze can route right/U/right instead of straight through a bowtie, so it appears that a bowtie at the main intersection won't solve the problem.
