Toolbox does not "scan" at all; it can only see what I can edit at a given zoom. The scan feature is Validator's great strength over other plugins, and it would be uniquely suited to this particular task. Not to mention it'd be a trivial addition to Validator, whereas adding a scanner to Toolbox would be a big change.

The blue Note reminder was added because there are often old construction zones for which the segment named never were changed back. I found two yesterday in different areas which I wouldn't have found before without this feature.

This was lit up in red complaining about no inward/outward connectivity, which really kinda made it stand out. Blue would have been less annoying. :-)

Example.

Is it possible to make a report that includes every street segment with a particular name? For instance, we name U turn segments "U turn" in the New Orleans area, but many have been named "U-Turn" and "U Turn". Trying to standardize all of them is a heck of a task, but being able to search "U-Turn" in Validator would make a big difference.

Toolbox helps to some extent, but having to comb at Zoom 4 to load street type segments takes much, much longer than a Zoom 0 or 1 scan.

Has there been a change made to the way that the Validator handles roads marked with (CONST ZN)?

I ask because this morning when I checked on an area that I manage, an road that's marked that way lit up like a Christmas Tree.... :-) I thought that construction zone roads would be not checked/highlighted. Did that change?

Discussion about two-way ramps has been moved to new thread, in Navigation and Routing Forum.

Please try to stay on topic here. Thanks.

I would like to ask for some more discipline in keeping the posts in this thread related to WME Validator.

Every morning I open the forum, this thread has accumulated several pages of posts. That's a lot of stuff to read. But IMHO, around 90% of the discussed topics are not related to Validator. Example: the discussion about two way ramps in the US is absolutely valid and important, but I think it should be taken in a seperate thread in the US forum.

In this way, I think we can become more efficient in improving this excellent tool.

I can't turn off validator from the tab on the left for public and beta wme but I can turn it off from the top right controlling layers section.

You can "turn off" any check you want using 'Reported as' field in the "Search" tab.

For instance, to disable #40 'Soft turns' highlighting/reporting you may put the following:
Code: Select all
!40,*

Hover your mouse over the field for more examples.

Unfortunately, there is no way to force "turn on" a check once it has been disabled for your country :(

Then how about re-enabling it and letting the people who don't want the check to use the above trick to turn it off? ;) That way, everyone gets what they need from it.

IMO Two-way Ramp is not a error and at the moment the check is enabled just for one country.

I'm sure that will be a great comfort to the first person who gets routed the wrong way onto a freeway because an editor didn't see that it was allowing traffic in both directions.... 8-) (Yes, I'm being somewhat facetious here.)
