As you might know the Validator is fully open source now. Source, localization, release files along with instructions are available at GitHub: https://github.com/WMEValidator/

I hope that move will help to reborn the script and will make sure it will never die again.

I just made a first public release. The basic script functionality works, but there is a huuuge room for improvements ;)

Unfortunately, there are just two developers working over the project. If you feel you are up to a new challenge, feel free to contact me. We need your help.

Thanks,
Andriy

What good news berestovskyy, I hope it will be of great help to all of us.

Many thanks.-

I seem to remember UK editors being advised to not enter a (subjective) cost for parking when we were 'flooded' with auto generated PLs, but simply add free where appropriate.
This check may cause some conflicts unless we agree that all parking charges are 'High'; generally believed by the public here anyway!!!

There is a U-turn in this segment on node B. I've tried using

Template: ${Uturn}
RegExp: /1/

But it's not picking it up. What should I be using?

Is there an option to rerun/ update a report? Would be useful when trying to cleanup one particular area.

I guess if you create and save a permalink, you can always create reports starting from the exact same position, which is probably like re-running the report.

Thanks, that's an option that I hadn't thought of. That'll work well enough for my needs.

That BEEPING Beeping!

Postby bummerdude69 » Tue Jun 03, 2014 5:00 pm

Two questions
1) what does the various beeps mean? Seems to have a purpose, but haven't figured it out.
2) How do you turn that NOISE OFF?!? ;)

1) One beep per "screen", with a higher-pitched beep at the end.
2) Gear, wrench, uncheck "Enable sounds".

1) I'd guess the longer between pages (beeps), the more segments to check?
2) Thanks, never noticed the Gear.

- Should there be a check for elevation? I'm thinking everything 'should' be Ground (0), unless it's actually going over/ under something (except railroads, etc).

- I'm using custom Template ${elevation} and RegExp D!/0/ Is there a better way to check for elevation?

Thanks

Is it possiable to identify the geometric nodes (not the end points, but the ones in the middle) that are at 180 degrees? Would be good candidates for cleaning up.

There is a chance you have a perfectly mapped area ;)

I've always scanned large areas, so never ran into this. :D Could some indication of a clean report be added. I'm thinking maybe change the grayed out 'Show Report' to 'Nothing to Report'. A report with a Summary of Zero Findings would work too, but that seems a bit overkill.
