The Editor Chat is up and running!

Postby MGODLEW » Mon Dec 30, 2013 9:33 pm

I'd like to suggest 2 things for chat. An alert for when someone directs a message towards you, for example if someone were to type (@MGODLEW: can you assist with this edit?) or click on their username in the chat window and it would direct a message to them, then they would receive an alert. It would also be nice if you can choose whether the message can be viewed publicly in the room or only peer to peer. The locate icon can still remain where it is and would allow to see where that editor is editing. Secondly, I would like the ability to group editors in chat by the State/Region they are editing in.

Also, it'd be nice to see in the chat area when a person has joined/exited the room so I am not answering questions or trying to talk to someone who has left the room..lol

The Editor Chat is up and running!

Hey everyone, Chat is here!

The chat can be opened with that little icon you can see in the right bottom corner of the screen, above the newly designed footer.

There are chat rooms for each country - and you will automatically be placed in the room for the country you are currently editing. You can see who is currently online, and see where they're editing - just click their name to focus your center of the screen to theirs.
Of course you can always go invisible if you'd like...
Please let us know if you see any issues at all.

happy new year!!!

If you just want to quietly move nodes around in privacy you can always go invisible, but what's the fun in that? :D :D :D

There are some thing we still need to work on - ranks displaying incorrectly, etc.

Please let us know if you see any issues at all! I'll be happy to answer all of your questions.

Happy editing!

Chat seems to be missing from WME now!

And now, it is back.

Yes, it does, but it should be limited to the Waze Map Editor only.

Yes, sure, I agree. As quick fix you just need to add these lines to the script's header:

Code: Select all
// @match https://www.waze.com/*/editor/*
// @match https://www.waze.com/editor/*

But this is something the author should do (and to do it thoroughly, you would need to add more lines for beta WME etc.).

Yes, it does, but it should be limited to the Waze Map Editor only.

BTW, is this a general Userstyles->Tampermonkey conversion issue?

From what I've seen, its Tampermonkey incarnation seems to activate on any website and every Iframe I've come across, making Tampermonkey list up to 9 active instances of your script on some websites.

I designed it for Stylish extension. Yes, userstyles.org provide some script for Tempermonkey, but as you say, its buggy.

This is the case in the current version.
