In Latvia we have streets like: 11. novembra krastmala; 13. janvāra iela... They are highlighted with #173 No space before ('1943r.') or after ('st.Jan') an abbreviation in the street name.
As I understand this is because of "11. " or what? Please add exclusion for numbers in streets or something. Correct name of streets are as shown. "number" "stop" "space" "text"

You are a wizard, thanks! I updated it to search up to the first 10 alternate names, and after some very quick testing it seems to work as expected.

Template:
Code: Select all
@@${altCity[0]}##${altStreet[0]}@@${altCity[1]}##${altStreet[1]}@@${altCity[2]}##${altStreet[2]}@@${altCity[3]}##${altStreet[3]}@@${altCity[4]}##${altStreet[4]}@@${altCity[5]}##${altStreet[5]}@@${altCity[6]}##${altStreet[6]}@@${altCity[7]}##${altStreet[7]}@@${altCity[8]}##${altStreet[8]}@@${altCity[9]}##${altStreet[9]}

Regexp:
Code: Select all
/@@##[^@]/

Alright I tried that, but it isn't working. Probably my non-coding-self doing something wrong.
I get that it needs to look like this:

"300.severity": "warning",

Where does it go though?

In 0.9.5 #40 'Soft turns' was split into #200 and #300 'Node A/B: Unconfirmed turn on minor road'. Some countries have extremely high number of unconfirmed turns, so those new checks are notes by default to draw more attention to primary roads. You can adjust the severity for US in localization pack.

For example, try to put into the template field:
Code: Select all
@@${altCity[0]}##${altStreet[0]}@@${altCity[1]}##${altStreet[1]}

And into RegExp field:
Code: Select all
/@@##[^@]/

Perhaps the code is not optimal, but I hope you got the idea. Let me know if we miss something in the template variables.

If you uncheck "Exclude non-editable segments" the highlights come back. This option is on by default which I think is what some are concerned with... but now that I know I can uncheck this option and see validator errors on segements locked to higher than my level, I'm good with it.

I don't like this one. I'm an AM, and if there's an error in the setup of an interstate in my area, I want to know about it. I can choose to ignore it (lots of validator stuff depends on context or is non-urgent).

However, if I think it might affect routing, I will request an unlock/fix.

Lest I be called an ingrate, my thanks for the whole system. It has helped me immeasurably.

I've been trying a bunch of different regexp, but can't seem to figure this one out:

I want to highlight segments that have an Alternate Street specified but no city.

This doesn't need to be in the main validator package, I am fine if I can do it with a custom regexp check. I can highlight segments that have alt st, segments that have specific text in any alternate street, segments that have no alt street... but I can't seem to get the above check to work. Nothing critical, just would help me do some cleanup.

thanks! :D

I must have missed this change, but the soft turns on minor roads being blue instead of yellow highlighting is throwing me off!

Please make sure you're using the latest version. The feature was disabled in v0.9.6.

I have read everything that has been said about the hide problems on the roads blocked with higher levels.
I think it's clear to everyone that it is important for us to continue to do what we did before.
The Validator is an excellent tool to understand what and where the problems are.
Thus, the Validator also serves to new editors to learn how to edit.
We must not limit it, please.
For example, I was doing some work over large areas and of course I was finding a lot of problems on roads blocked at level 4 and level 5.
Now I can not correct all those mistakes and editor of the upper level have rightly the time to check all areas.
Change the graphics but the Validator restored as it was before as soon as possible!
