Here's an idea. It's a little bit crazy, but I think it may work:

Get 'private car' routing finished before jumping off on something new.

- Proper HOV support
- HOT lane support
- U-turns
- time restricted turns
- time restricted direction of travel
- differentiation between maintained gravel roads and 4x4 trails
- Ability to update incorrect GPS coordinates for addresses (since Bing takes forever, a small Waze hosted override database would work)

Most of these will affect any new type of vehicle routing you add as well. Let's get the bread and butter first before jumping to dessert.

Motorcycle mode : different traffic and time computation (all roads doesn't take the same time by car and by motorbike). In France, usable roads are the same for motorcycle and car.

no pedestrians - too much trash anyway
no trucks - truck drivers will not insert restrictions needed, they always on road!
no bikers - they drive as it is possible, you cant use their tracks for twice
YES for train mode - recording OFF, navigation OFF!

Of course there is good to have at least one "others" mode for people, who want use Waze without car! Speed data collecting off for them and no recording allowed and maybe navigation off too, to avoid walkers from german highways.

There was many funny ideas starting from tuk-tuk bikes and ending with spaceship, I liked them a much. :D Anyway I suggest keep Waze map simple and clear! If there is power for software development - we have lot of good ideas in Waze forum.

IRL case: Accident on freeway, traffic jam and what did truck drivers? They tried to use smaller alternative roads, but as they cannot drive on ice and snow, they blocked roads and collapsed all rerouting system for normal cars. Trucks just cannot drive on snow and ice if they do not have winter tires (M+S)! Of course situation in countries is different, but s-t happens. Truck routing is not easy!

Please remind also that 99% of new trucks have their own navigation systems from factory!

Hi Folks! We had 1,5 year long discussion about car types like in kindergarten and nothing happened?

In last 365 days we have Zero developments. IMHO this topic and forum is pretty useless. Maybe somebody from superchampsmanagers may explain what is going on?

We need your help:

Currently there is only one vehicle type in Waze - Private car.
All navigation methods in Waze are currently designated for the use of drivers who use private cars only.
Well... We're working on exciting stuff here at Waze HQ, but we need your help!

- Which types of vehicles should be added to Waze's client? (i.e truck, 18 wheelers, scooters etc.)
- which types of navigation would you like to see? ( HOV lanes, truck roads only etc.)

We're waiting to hear you all!

* Please elaborate as possible and state your country.

Ori

Country:India
Type of vehicle: scooter(2 wheelers)
Type of navigation: only 2 wheelers road.

For example I am attaching a permalink: https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&l ... TTTTTTTTFT

In above you can see there is a bridge named as Z Bridge which is just for 2 wheelers.
