Water (coastal/harbor) edges need fixing

Post by Jay91150
https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=-63.58 ... 81&zoom=14

I just inherited Halifax region as an AM and there are over a dozen URs complaining about the disparity between the livemap (app map)'s coast and the real one, as shown in the livemap link above.

The WME forum suggested that this needs to be raised here - a past coastal-edge update on the NA server included the USA but not Canada apparently?

Is there anything I can tell the UR reporter other than "I see your problem"?

This is what I've been posting as a comment on the Vancouver ones:
This is a known issue with the water layer. Waze staff has been informed, and are looking into methods of resolution.
It should not affect routing -- only display.

Editors: please leave this UR in place until further notice. DO NOT mark it as solved or not identified.

I've resolved the Vancouver ones now, as Waze has begun deploying a fix.

Here's my comment:
Waze HQ has begun deploying a fix to resolve the issues with the water layer.

The fix will rollout over the next few weeks. If you still see this issue after mid-August 2014, please re-report at that time.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Looking at the livemap, it looks like most of this is being fixed -- at least around Vancouver.

It might take a couple more tile updates to get all zoom levels repaired, though the client tiles are probably working now.

Just checking... should ALL of the nine URs reporting coast problems in HRM (Halifax/Dartmouth) stay, or just one as a representative?
