With the 3.8.0 release for IOS, the sound no longer goes to my iphone 5 speaker. I have play sound to phone speaker on, bluetooth turned off, and App volume all the way up.

iOS 3.8.0 Feedback Thread

Postby JohnDoe75 » Wed Jun 18, 2014 12:28 pm

What's new

Keeping up with friends & family is easier than ever before! With new & improved features, put an end to those pesky texts and phone calls – “I’m leaving now,” I’m stuck in traffic,” “Almost there!” – allowing Waze to do the work for you.

- Find more friends on Waze by adding Contacts
- Send & receive friend requests and manage your friends list
- Get in touch with friends directly from their profiles: Share a drive, call, message or beep beep to say - hello!
- Locations sent between friends are saved on user profiles for future navigation
- New easy-to-use design for sending locations
- Share your drive to let friends & family know you’re on the way
- Redesigned ETA screen includes friends display to easily share your drive
- New icon on ETA tab shows the number of people viewing your shared drive, and expands for overview of activity
- Main menu redesigned to include new Send Location button and Share Drive button in Nav mode

Bug fixes:
- Waze freezing when performing a search
- General stability improvements

To whom it may concern :

Please Waze stop (or pause) that crap friend-social thing that's going on since several updates.
Leave that to specialise app (which are there for and which is their business) and come back to your primary function : navigation. We all (hope  ) came and love you for that.
Don't we have to keep our eyes on the road !
Fixe all there is to fixe and then you can add social.

- TTS
- Long distance trip
- Shorter time between updates for traffic display
- It's been weeks since Waze proposed a shorter trip and keeps leaving me stuck in traffic
- Please add an option to delete or fade (like navigation bar) the friend icon on the map
....

Thx

Well... Waze was designed as a social commuter app.
So why do you wonder..???

Around navigation : map edits, alerts on road... not blocking the map with something a lot of us won't use.

Most do but not all of us. ;)
Again, we love THIS "Social dimension" : I see a hazard, I share, I see a road closed, I share, I'm stuck in traffic, I share, I wanna go somewhere as quickly as possible I ask Waze and it takes me there using all the shared information.
I'm just saying Waze should focus more on that and when all is good it can add more.

milkyway35 wrote:Johndoe, the problems you spoke about are not all related to the app itself, but the backend.

 I missed something then. I thought Waze (app) was managed by Waze Inc.
What's the difference between the app and Waze Inc then ?

milkyway35 wrote:Johndoe, the app is the client. The client communicate with a server.

The routing, is not on client side. You can release as much version of the app, it wont affect the server.

The problems you mention, are on server-side. Client dev are not the same dev than backend dev.

It's like asking to improve the browser because the web server have problem.

Oh that i knew, I'm just saying they all work for the same company and both have to get better and better and not the app nor the servers have to be left behind.
Forces should be moved around if needed.
We don't need a new app if the "backend" doesn't follow

It's been like this for years. Literally. You need to change the volume when a sound is playing or when voice command is activated. The hardware buttons only act on the currently open audio channel. Waze doesn't constantly keep the audio channel open, so when it's not playing a sound, iOS defaults the buttons back to ringer.

I totally desagree with that.
In 3.7.8 and previous version, you could easily change the app volume using the 2 hardware buttons, no need for sound playing or navigation on.

I also would like to remind those using iOS7 that you can control the volume (not ringer) with the control center at the button of the screen (Down - up)

I have been a registered user for a long time. Many trips to NY from NC. After updating today I cant log in. I have requested the sms link several times but each time it just takes me to the waze app to the same page I was just on, nothing new. I had to set up a new account just to be able to look for help. I have bragged to all my friends about how great waze is but If I have to start over I will just return to my garmin. All I need is my user name and password I have had for years. Any idea how to get it? No I did not add an e-mail address to my account didn't know I needed to.

Is the username LASHAWNPulkoski the one you used to login in Waze the first time ?
If yes use it with the same password you used to connect to this forum

If you haven't done the update on iTunes, try this :
Delete the app from your iPhone
Sync your iPhone with iTunes and it should reinstall version 3.7.8 with your logins
