Edit/Sort/Filter Favorites

Postby MKRMarks » Sat Apr 19, 2014 4:37 am

There is no way to edit Favorites (ie. Change name, modify address, etc) on Android and very limited on iPhone or from the web.
Please make available. Thanks!

+1 to edit. Also interested in sort options for the favorites list, manually or alphabetically.

The easy solution to that is to delete the Favorite and re-search for the location, and add at back using the name you want to give it.

Sort options are always nice to have though.

Using your process when I want to add an important favorite to the top of the list, I'd have to erase all the others and start over.

On a related side note, if there was a web interface for the favorites, maybe in the dashboard. You wouldn't lose them all every time you reset the app or installed on a new device/ROM.

The dashboard idea is definitely an excellent one. And my previous response wasn't meant to say your other idea isn't a good one. It's definitely a feature that should exist.

OTOH, I have to admit I'm not a frequent user of the Favorites section. Yes, I do always put frequent destinations in there and give them my own names, but if they're favorite enough to be a favorite, they will also most likely already be at or near the top of my list of default/recent destinations.

No offense taken, just trying to elaborate on the users and benefits that you reminded me of.

I do a lot of driving to random destinations, so my favorite are rarely at the top of my list, and a decent amount of them aren't even in recent list.

I would also like to rename favorites and sort them either alphabetically or by dragging and dropping them into a custom order. We also need a faster way to delete favorites because it requires many screen taps to do so: you have to tap the menu, then tap navigation, then tap Favorites, then tap the circle with the "i" icon, then tap Remove, and then it takes you back to the map screen and you have to repeat the entire process again.

You must be on Android. Sorry. Waze has better functionality on iOS for Favorites. Not sure why there isn't parity on the feature set.

+1 on a way to edit a favorites name... Seems strange that hasn't been added yet...

+1

I actually would like to go a step further on this. I would like to see us have the option to edit, add, and delete favorites online when we log into the website.
