Your reminder is good advice! (Perhaps I should change my handle from “Map Wrangler” to “Route Wrangler” to more aptly target my edits )

I had previously read the best practices you sent the links to -- and I specifically added only the minimal “parking lot roads” suggested in the best practices, i.e.:

• 1. Main entrances from the roads outside the parking lot
  2 Lanes that run along storefronts
  3. Lanes that run along main roads outside the parking area (to prevent cars in the parking area from snapping to the main roads and sending incorrect speed information)
  4. Primary lanes that serve to get people from one area of the lot to another.

What has been deleted (from the Live Map) isn’t the “roadways” I added -- rather it is the positioning/placement of the buildings (stores) in the new shopping center. This includes Walmart, Panera Bread, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Pet Smart, McDonalds, etc. etc.

Like, I imagine, most map editors, I took considerable care and time to accurately position these new buildings and features.

Why would these be deleted?

That whole area of full of parking lots like that, especially to the west and northwest. Might be worth sending that editor a PM with a reference to the appropriate wiki documentation
