Autostart or Autorun

Post by Iri-Dium
The latest update is fantastic but why does it need to autostart all the time even when not wanted or required. It's a phone at the end of the day, not a satnav.
What is it doing in the background?

Give the user the option. If it continues i'll uninstall and use something else.

What device are you using? I've never had the Android version autostart!

Oh. My!
My first reaction was perhaps this is preparation for the waze widget which will need a background service.

Then I went to check the available widgets...

Strange...

I saw the widget in the list on my wive's phone, but not in mine.

Now I am checking again, and it no longer is in the list on both phones...

I just checked the autostarts app on my Android phone and it does seem as waze is set to auto start when connectivity is changed.

The info for the 'connectivity changed' status states that "The current network connection has changed, for example: when switching from wi-fi to GSM. Note that since this is also triggered when a connection is initially established, it effectively entails the 'On Startup' behavior."

So the "What is it doing in the background?" question is valid and I would like to know as well.

It's a pulse mini on android. V2.1.1
Autostarts on startup but when killed restarts again with the same frequency as roadsync - which cannot be uninstalled. Never used to be like that until Waze 2.3.6.4
