I think the 500 miles in a week is one time. Week after next I'll be driving up to NY and NJ again and that is 700 miles one way. So I'll either have two 700 mile weeks or one 1,400 mile week and I'll be able to check.

I think I saw the announcement for editing candies ONCE ever, and it was on a 2.x client. And I get editing candies at least once a week.

By the way, for me I've noticed that editing candies only re-spawn after I come to a complete stop. Say I earned 3 candies. First pops up in front of me (with no notification). I get it and hear the fan fare and sparkle etc.

Now the next time I come to a stop (traffic light etc), I will hear a little pop sound and a new candy will have spawned in front of me. I can then repeat that pattern and grab all 3 in a short period of time.

BUT, say that after I grab that first candy I hop on the interstate. I can then drive hours and hours, with or with out navigating a route, and no more candies will pop up -- until I come to a stop again. And it doesn't have to be an interstate. If I time the lights well in town I can drive across town in 20 minutes with out a full stop and I won't see a candy until I stop.

Yes, at a stop is an exaggeration on my point. It needs to be at least a rolling stop or heavy traffic. I would assume the GPS signal quality will never ever show a device standing still, so there must be some threshold of below a certain speed.

I can understand that they want to pop up candies in front of you and give you a chance to see them, but if your trip doesn't have many stops or slow periods, it makes it really difficult to get the candies.

Especially in navigation mode it should just assume you will follow the route a place the candies appropriately.
