Re road closure cloning - is it possible to have the clone "auto-increment"?

It seems to me that the major use-case for this will be daily repeating closures with dates A-A (for a daytime closure) or A-(A+1) (for night-time). So adding 1 day to each date in the cloned closure would be the most useful option.

I don't like to impose on other editors, in particular newer editors who are just getting involved but . . . one of the features of the feed that has been very much wanted by the global community is notification of PMs.

I currently have 22 unread PMs in my Outbox, mostly trying to contact editors who have made a mistake in their editing and to help them learn and rectify the problem. Several time a year in the UK we have to block an editor who is damaging the map to try and force contact: this is an unpleasant thing to do and is likely to scare them away. With PM notifications now showing up in WME, it will be much easier to contact them.

I'm not saying you shouldn't have the ability to hide PM notifications at all, although that may be appropriate. I can think of several options:
  • Don't allow PM notifications to be filtered at all
  • Only allow recent PMs to be filtered - say anything over 1 week old still appears in the list
  • Make the filtering less easy - say you have to type a passphrase into a box to filter PMs
  • Have PM filtering automatically turn off once a week
  • Only allow senior editors (L3+ or L4+) to filter PM notifications
  • Provide some other warning when there are PMs. Perhaps you could use some highlighting on the "Feed Filter Controls" text or the "Load More" button, say a red or flashing background?
  • Don't filter PMs from senior editors (if that's even possible)

No - I didn't remember! Actually I assumed not remembering the settings was a minor bug - and one I hadn't yet investigated or considered reporting. </facepalm>

So by doing less work, you've effectively implemented "turn PM notifications back on automatically" already. :D

@turbomkt - you're absolutely right. The newest of editors won't be running the script anyway, so this would have limited application. But I'm sure every country has them: the editors who quietly worked their way up to L4 or L5 - particularly without or before Self Management - whilst posting on the forums maybe once a year. A couple of years ago we had a L5 editor who wouldn't even read their PMs: we would have had to block them if they hadn't stopped editing anyway.

No need - this is part of the native functionality of WME. :)

Select multiple segments and open the "closures" tab. Any closures that don't apply to all segments will have an "apply to all" link on them. You can use this to clone closures to other segments.

Protip 1: if you need to edit a segment with a closure (say you want to correct the name), then you can clone the closure to another segment; remove it from the original segment; make your edits; clone the closure back; remove it from the "spare" segment.

Protip 2: if you have to set up a repeating closure on segments with a mix of directions, set it up initially on a single 2-way segment. Then select all the segments and clone all the closures: WME is a bit of a mess when adding closures to segments with multiple directions.

It looks like URO+ has a specific problem with the new WME update and MTE mode..

On exiting MTE mode (when all our tabs disappear), the default tab is the Feeds tab. With URO+ active, this tab never shows any content - just a constantly revolving "waiting" symbol and a steady stream of console errors. I expect this is connected to the "Filter Feed" code?

I'm seeing significant issues with the latest update, possibly caused by the addition I asked for: filter cameras by user, for which I thank you greatly.

I am finding that the camera filtering stops working completely and the "Loading road data..." message never goes away. When this happens, there are several strange behaviours:
  • The zoom bar slider stops working properly. I can still zoom in & out with mouse wheel or the zoom bar buttons or by dragging the slider, but any zoom method except dragging the slider leaves the slider sitting where it was.
  • If I delete a camera using the link in it's popup, the save counter does not increase. If I add a segment, the counter will then jump up to 2. I can undo to decrease it to 1 and then save and the camera will be gone. If I hit undo again to undo the camera deletion, the camera re-appears but the edit counter stays at 1 and WME continues to think I have something to save if I refresh.
This is tested in current version of Chrome with all other scripts disabled.

I'm guessing it might be down to dodgy data on a single camera, so this is the permalink for where I am definitely encountering the problem. The functionality has worked in other locations.

I can see some errors on the console. It turns out to be surprisingly difficult to copy what I'm seeing as text, so I've had to settle for a screenshot:

This seems to have been triggered by something particular to the camera data within central London, and how the associated user ID list is generated - I was using 3.84 quite happily earlier today editing around the fringes of London, but all hell broke loose when I started looking at some URs in the central area... Of course, there's always the possibility that HQ pushed out a sneaky WME update this evening that broke something.
Well it's now working nicely. I have just successfully deleted approximately 50 cameras created by 2 particularly problematic users - and that's not counting the 50 or so I had previously managed to find from those two.

We've got a new type of closure MP - [Tfl OpenData]. You can see a couple here.

No great rush but, next time you're doing an update, this needs adding to the list of tags that change the MP icon to Roadworks. ;)

I don't remember if I thought or mentioned it before, but I find it greatly amusing that Waze are tagging their MP notes in exactly the same way we tag notes, closures etc - and, of course, make it much easier for URO+ to detect them.

How about their own icon? A little steaming pile of poo comes to mind, given that they're mostly marking Waze car park imports. ;)
