Can't figure this one out ... perhaps one of the Union-Endicott Tigers' runners tripped and fell?

Nothing wrong with any segments in the area -- marked it solved and moved on. :)

At least it doesn't appear that they tried to pave the track lanes! :D

Man, y'all ain't never gonna believe this one unless I show you the picture. Brace yourselves for the unthinkable -- a Wazer actually used the "Missing Bridge Overpass" code in an appropriate manner! Check it out here --

Yep, the Wazer reported a "Missing Bridge Overpass" because Waze routed them over a bridge that no longer exists! "Red Mill Rd" on the left and "Pleasant St" on the right used to meet over that creek (and did in WME until moments ago ;)), but the bridge is no longer there (obviously :D -- you can still see part of its wreckage on the eastern bank).

I wish there was some way to find out who this Wazer was so that we could give him/her a medal for being the first (non-editing) Wazer ever to use the "MBO" code properly! :D

Just up the road a bit from the post above -- found a beautiful example of why cameras have to be verified in WME before they'll show in the client:

Yep, let's put a speed camera at the end of a short dead-end street -- that'll stop those hot-rodding punks from trying to build up speed to get their pickups up the grassy hillside! (Since speed cameras are not permitted in this part of NY anyway, perhaps they had to hide it somewhere?) Ah well, a free point for me -- DELETE! :D

jondrush wrote:In my experience, a traffic circle has lights controlling motion around the circle. A roundabout uses no lights for traffic within the circle.
The only "roundabout" that I've been on (and quite frequently, as it's only 4 blocks from where I went to college in Johnson City, NY) has always been called a "traffic circle" -- and it has never used lights or other restrictions, even before it was upgraded to the more modern style of roundabout a couple of years ago.

That said, there's a good article about the difference between "roundabouts" and "traffic circles" at the NYSDOT website. In part, it says:
NYSDOT wrote:The modern roundabout is a type of circular intersection that has been successfully implemented in Europe and Australia over the past few decades. Despite the tens of thousands of roundabouts in operation around the world, there are only a few hundred in the United States. Until recently, roundabouts have been slow to gain support in this country. ... However, substantial progress has been achieved in the subsequent design of circular intersections, and a modern roundabout should not be confused with the traffic circles of the past.
And in this brochure, even more helpful information is given:
NYSDOT wrote:A roundabout is not a traffic circle. There are two main differences between a modern roundabout and a traditional traffic circle:
1) Speed – the design of a roundabout – smaller central islands and medians island deflectors - slows traffic upon entry and while circulating. Whereas the design of a traffic circle allows for higher speed entry and circulation.
2) Yield at Entry – as described above, traffic circulating in the roundabout has the right of way, and vehicles entering must yield to traffic already circulating. Whereas in traffic circles, motorists entering the circle have the right of way and circulating vehicles must yield or stop, often causing gridlock.
So what does all that mean for Waze? Well, since the old-style "traffic circles" will likely be replaced with more modern "roundabouts" (eventually -- or "soon", in Waze terminology :P), I would suggest doing nothing -- just leave them called "roundabouts" and direct anyone who asks about it to check out these articles. ;)

Back on-topic ;) (in a rather off-topic topic anyway! :D) --
General error (user reported)
Description: gave as the crow flies distance for gas stations!
:?: Yep, if you run out of gas, Waze will send a flock of specially-trained crows to carry you to the nearest station ... that's why we use that measurement. Marked it "not identified" -- maybe the Wazer will take the hint and come visit the forum for some education regarding what should and should not be reported via the "Map Issues" function. :P

Not quite "any" Walmart -- Walmart #2326 has very few GPS tracks inside it. But Walmart #1976 is quite a mess! That's about the worst one in my general area -- the others look reasonably clear of muddy GPS tracks. :D

Not the Walmart where I'm currently sitting in the break room ;) -- we're nestled comfortably in the suburban fringe of a rather small city, far from anything remotely dangerous. :)

Oh, goody, a guessing game. OK, I'll rename the street to "Clueless User Dr", and if that's not right, you can post another UR tomorrow.
:D

Or you could try looking it up in a reliable and authoritative reference guide online ;). For example, I use NYS Orthos Online to get street names for just about anywhere on this continent (although the aerial images are only available for NY, the map still shows for other states and provinces). You might have access to other governmental sources in your area; the "United States" country forum here has a thread that lists such sources for the USA.

Yes, undoubtedly the Wazer should have given you the actual street name in addition to the basically-useless comment that was given -- but it's not always a hard task to find out the needed information (I use a one-click Bookmarklet that opens the Orthos site to the current WME lat/long coordinates and zoom level for quick and easy reference).
