Locked

Unlock and update requests

Post by
For map editors: post to this thread whenever you need somebody to clear a lock on a road segment or make some other change that you can't make yourself for some reason (such as the lock level being too high or the segment being outside your editing area).

Edited to add a description of what the request should include (copied shamelessly from the UK's posting guidelines for the same purpose, and modified slightly):
  • In the subject line, summarise the location and the lock level change you want. For example: "L5→L3 Unlock: Kilmainham (R811 SCR)"
  • Select the relevant segment(s) and copy/paste the Permalink into your post.
  • Provide a short explanation of why you are requesting the change.
  • Indicate if you are an Area Manager for your requested segment(s), and your editing rank
  • For closure requests, please include dates, times, a brief reason to display in the client and (if you have any) online references.
  • Locks will be reduced to the appropriate level based on the rank of the requester.
Note that a higher level editor may choose to fix the problem themselves so higher value segments will remain protected at their level.

The back-road at the north end of Dublin Airport isn't connected to L72746 Naul road for some reason. I can't fix it because it's L5 locked. The location is 53.435613, -6.231825.

Thanks,
Mark
Hi Mark, David,

Thanks for getting in touch and re-reminding me on this road segment connecting Dublin Airport with L72746 Naul Rd - https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lo ... =194073246

There were a lot of works going on in that area of the airport complex and due to the heavy construction works traffic this handy back entrance to the airport was closed periodically - got caught out myself a few times when late and at rush hour. That was the reason I decided to disconnect - no point in sending someone on a bum steer because I know many people use it for handy access egress.

In any event I took a scour out there two nights ago and the road is open again. I also checked it out with Dublin Airport Authority and local Garda, who confirmed. There are still works going on but I'm given to understand they're not affecting the road.

As you can see I've set it back to normal and re-connected.

Regards,

Arthur.

Thanks David,
Just a sea place request that slightly extended over a road Stan was working on. Done some work there earlier and did not get around to returning to the area because the aerials are a bit off.

Hi,

Just as an update for this topic, can people make sure that the have selected UK English as their language and not the US version (just English - irritating) This can be important for some editing features I believe.
Posting the permalink rather than some shortening link can make life easier too.. :)

Hi,

I thought someone might ask that! Damn.. :D
It certainly makes a difference for Uk editors and I'll try and get the differences or a post where they are mentioned.

Hi,

I have looked on the Wexford County Council website and not found a listing for this one.
Looked on wicklow council site as well and nothing there either!

Access to South Quay is restricted and is no through road from the bridge end to the junction with Harbour Rd.

Access is limited as the is a whacking great hole in the road! You can get to Fogarty's Ter from the Arklow Bridge Road end and no further and at least to Anchor Mews.
Access through South Green is also restricted.

Hi David,

Here.
Includes affected roads. They were all marked access to residents only as you cannot get through due to the closure.
There was no indication of how long the works would be in place at all but it did look pretty long term. Two holes and they are working on pipes between I believe.
I'll look again on Wexford and wicklow site to see if I can find anything, Might be a waterboard thing though?

Hi,

South Quay past the junction of Brookview Ct there are steel plates sunk into the road extending up 6-8 feet so that is a no go.
South Quay at the junction of Harbour Rd entry allowed but not for any great distance, probably up to Anchor Mews.
From Tinahask down South Gn and Harbour Rd down unnamed are "restricted" but how far down either I didn't check.
Probably no access to South Quay from either and the linked roads.
