This is weird. I have done a few u-turn length at 10m and it works.

Edit:
This is one of the U-turn that is 10m in length that is working for me.

I thought I'm the only one facing the issue. I am facing the issue on WME beta. On WME production filter by editor is working fine.

Edit:

These editors are actually employed by Waze, so no.

Also, if a Place Update is approved with no other changes, then it will have the *submitter* as the last editor, _not_ the reviewer. Which means there are many more place updates being approved by IGN editors than you think...
If some are much worse than the rest, Waze may choose to no longer employ the very worst ones. Why pay for bad work.

Timbones wrote:I've missed something somewhere - 1) how can there be house numbers that weren't put in by an editor, and 2) why should "nudging" them be necessary?
Some countries (maybe all, but definitely the USA) have House Numbers imported into WME, however even when they are correct they are handled differently by the server than HNs which were touched by editor. So say for example there is a corner house at the intersection of C ave. and 1st st. The address is actually 123 C ave., but the location of the imported HN is closer to the segment of 1st st. than it is to the segment of C ave. Since this HN was never touched in WME, a search for this address will prefer a matching Google result over the Waze HN. (In the USA it seems our imported HNs came from Google and usually in the same location). If I touch the HN in WME, the Waze HN will now be preferred over a matching Google result.

The practical implication in this case. A destination to a Waze HN always ends on the named segment for the HN, so even though this HN is closer to 1st st, the destination will be the closest point on C ave. to the HN location. If the search returns a Google result, the destination will be to the closest segment to the HN location which in this case would be around the corner on C ave.
Once I touch the HN in WME, even if I just move it a few pixels (even closer to 1st st), it will now be preferred over the Google result, and the destination will be on C ave.

This issue primarily shows itself for corner houses, and for areas where the HN and Google pins are closer to a back alley or nearby street, than to the street the destination is meant to be on.

Yes of course, and those few instances would be instances better either;
1) not touched, and allowed to fall back to the Google pin routing of closest segment, or
2) corrected by using a residential private place point, so the data is maintained in Waze and is able to route to the closest segment regardless of name.

Again this shows that wholesale editing must still be carefully considered for side effects before simply clicking a tool and save.

However if a mass HN edit tool was available, is be more inclined to take the effort to fix HNs in NYC, and map alleys which would otherwise become the destination.

I had access to it as a non-AM L3.
Rank 3 OR AM.
Not Rank 3 AND AM

That is as designed

I did consider excluding Ramps from the "no speed limits" highlight, as I didn't think they were common in my country. But, as I didn't know what the common practice was in other countries, I decided not to impose my personal impression on the whole world. ;)

Since then, I have come across one example where a ramp had an actual (non-advisory) speed limit on it. I vaguely recall that France often has reducing speed limits directly on exit ramps (?).

I would also agree that advisory speed signs probably don't need to be input as speed limits, but they will inevitably get added by an editor sooner or later, and they won't cause a problem for drivers. We should probably leave this to individual countries to decide on.
Maybe it's not too hard to leave it up to the Editor by having a check box to determine if ramps are included.

Even in the USA where most ramps don't have speed limits, only recommended speeds, there are still some ramps with legal limits and official signs

+1 on the option to highlight segments <10m and 10-15m. Its useful to supress u-turns on narrowly divided highways where a direct u-turn is prohibited.

I've noticed that the RevCons and SelfCons can sometimes cause funky routing if there's bad traffic on a nearby highway and Waze is trying to detour it on more local roads. However, I've only seen this happen if there are a lot of map errors in the neighborhood, e.g. minor highways or primary streets not identified and properly connected to bigger highway networks, inaccurate soft one-ways, etc. - all probable limitation from the base map I would imagine. In any case, I've only corrected these, with the junction node fixer script, when there is a UR or problem pin nearby complaining about weird routing and can't justify the weird route based on the speed information the segments involved show.

Perhaps the RevCons and SelfCons should only be highlighted for Area Managers (Level 3 and up)? I think the script already does that for some other things. Maybe it already does it for this too?
