When was the UR for the S Bailey Rd from? We recently had a briefs period where those abbreviations weren't working, but it has been fixed now. Can you please also give us a permalink to the UR so we can check it.
Nyes should be pronounced like the Y is an I: "Nies" or the same way you pronounce Bill Nye.

Here's the permalink to the UR for S Bailey Rd: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... st=4566186
Nyes is on the to do list (but not a high priority right now)
I tested that S Bailey junction and it is working properly, I responded to the UR for the reporter to clear TTS using cc@tts. That should fix it for him.
Nyes has been fixed, I updated it on the list. Please clear you cache (cc@tts) and confirm.

Added to the list in the wiki, thanks

FYI weve started to tackle the pronunciation list anew, and you can see some items have been fixed, and others are now pending (in progress working on a fix). You'll be able to track the progress of issues in the wiki list live. As soon as a fix happens you should see it updated in the wiki list.

Waze is currently mispronouncing "Cañada" of the road here and the college name here like the country name.

The locals are stirring ;)

Thanks.
Its a step better than before when it completely failed with the accent and inserted garbage in its place.
Can you tell us what it should sound like?
the ñ is supposed to make a "y" sound after the "n". It's why Spanish speakers say "hall-uh-pain-yo" as opposed to the English mis-pronunciation of "hal-ah-pee-NO" for jalapeño.

I have correction to add as well.

Shawano is pronounced how it looks (sha-wa-no). It's a local Indian name that should be pronounced "Shaw-no" (only one "a") https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... s=82286310

*edit - changed "Spanish" pronunciation approximation
I'll add these two to the list.

Has this abbreviation been deprecated since the update to Jane (and the original abbreviation wiki page) or is it being worked on for an update?
Cmn and Cmns are both not supported by Jane. However they are both on a list we are actively checking to determine if we should add support for them. We should have a decision shortly, once we finish testing and researching the list.

qwaletee wrote:"Exits 14-1:" says "Exits 14 to 1" - yes, I know this should say Exit, not Exits. Nearby Exit 14B-61 works correctly. It is possible that there are special rules for ^Exit \d+-d+: ... if so, I can make the fix, drop the s, and test, before proceeding.
There are rules, and the dash is handled differently when it is between digits vs letters by the TTS engine.
What do you think would be the natural way to read exit 14-1?
