I would love to have a bar at the bottom of the screen that displays the traffic on the current route, so I don't have to keep scrolling the map to see the traffic ahead. I'm thinking something similar to the bar shown during the route selection. I know Waze will reroute automatically, but it's nice to see what's ahead or if the conditions change.

You're right but when you press on routes it takes time to display it because the server calculates alternate routes. And it doesn't allow you to see changes in traffic conditions, unless you keep pressing routes every few minutes.

Not going to lie but on the Android version I could swear it shows a complete route with colors to indicate traffic on the route. This gives you the option to see alternate routes.
