Re: Puerto Rico MapRaid! (#1)

Post by Dry_B0nes
I'm looking for suggestions on two things.

1. How to deal with missing House Numbers. What is the best way to track them down, and can they be left blank?
2. What should be the "source of truth" for road names, when Google Maps, the ArcGIS Viewer, and/or Connect Puerto Rico show different names?
2.5 Or, where the road goes by a street name and a highway name? Such as Calle Colón and PR-115, but seems to change block by block, depending on which map you are following.

Thanks!

Hi,
the browser keeps telling me that I need Silverlight in order to use http://gis.otg.pr.gov/apps/pr_map/, but I have it already installed!!

Did anyone experience the same problem? I tried in W7 and W10, and couldn't make it work.

BTW, if anyone needs helps w/Spanish, I'm also a native speaker.

Regards

So, then this is fun.

Using the ArcGIS Viewer (http://gis.otg.pr.gov/apps/pr_map/) for street info.
The GIS satellite image shows both roads as Calle Dr Sanchez Gomalez.
The GIS Streets basemap layer though shows the left road as Calle Contez, and the right road as Calle Dr Sanchez Gomalez.

Suggestions?
Hi, about the "Sanchez Gomalez" street... it seems that GM has the correct name, which is "Sanchez Gonzalez". "Gomalez" sounds and looks, to a Spanish speaker, a typo for "Gonzalez", so I think that the street name should be "Calle Dr Sanchez Gonzalez"

Also, are you in our MapRaid slack? We do need translators.
Thank you
Hi! I've been busy at work and couldn't get back to the MR until now. I'm in slack as well, so if you still need translators, please let me know.

Same with me when using Chrome. Chrome (above version 42) and Silverlight don't seem to get along.
Try to use Firefox browser.
