@mavrik64 : From testing the future release in beta I can say they seem to have fixed the "Still adding friends" problem. I never had trouble from 3.9 to 4.0 with the other things you described and haven't noticed a significant difference in my area.

Other people have made the same observation. Keeping all the feedback about this in the main feedback thread is the best way for Waze to notice it.

To answer your question there is unfortunately no way to fix this yourself. It needs to be changed by Waze in the next update (if they see enough posts complaining about it they might).

It's just that this forum is community managed and the Waze staff doesn't really read it, except official feedback threads. There is one for the Android version, one for iOS, and others for the Waze Map Editor, etc.. So it's not ALL "Waze" feedback in a single thread, there are still categories

There can be side threads about a single topic but it will have less chance to be noticed by staff. If you can't find your topic by searching or that matches are topics that are over 6 months old, feel free to open a new one. Posting in 2 year old threads is not recommended because most of the information they talked about back then is about older version of the app, and mostly outdated. Which can make things confusing if people don't look at the posts' date, because they would be looking for things and shared links that may not exist anymore.

About the 3 points about UI problems I would have to say I agree, thanks for the feedback.

That is indeed a big problem since the update. I hope it gets fixed soon.

It was reported in the previous iOS feedback thread, and on Centercode as well (SUG-1052), where it is "In review" by the product team.

It bugs me often too, just yesterday I had a comment saying "it's good now!" On a closure and had to randomly check all the closures in my area to find out where the comment was left.

Do you have the latest app store update of the iOS app?

It is best that you complete the report when it's safe to do so. You don't need to complete it while driving because that is a distraction as you say.

Simply click report + hazard and leave it. Waze will have saved the location and time of your report then it will automatically minimize the report window for later.
When you are parked or at a long red light, open the minimized report window again and finish entering the details + press Send. All done when you have time to do it and not while driving.

@sohandy: I've also had issues in the past with various apps just after an update. Usually I almost never switch my phone off because I always charge it when it gets low on battery (6S+ 64Gb).
In many cases, disabling the app completely (double tab on home and swipe the app upwards to kill the background process) and then turning my iPhone off and on again solved the issues. If that still did not do it, I would then uninstall the app, turn my phone off, on, then re-install, it works 99% of the time. I guess just updating without ever rebooting the phone may sometimes generate unwanted glitches.

Still some problems which have to be resolved, using Waze with an iPhone 5S in landscape mode:

1) current street bubble not showing full name even if there is enough space in landscape mode (full street name should have been "Viale Tor di Quinto"; also, at low zoom level you can see a disproportion between streets thickness and my position's arrow dimension, which should be reduced.


2) when an alert appears, there is still this annoyingly large bar which takes away too much of remaining space for the map, even covering the actual location of the warning (see portion of blue bubble)


a very simple way to fix this would be to temporarily cover the bottom bar with the alert bar, like in this quick example I made in Photoshop:

this way would be much clearer for me, leaving enough space for the map in landscape mode on iPhone 5S.
Also, remove the status bar. It's not there in v3.9, the app was in full screen, it's a pretty obvious change that would save another 5 or 10 pixels for the map.
Generally, this reduced space for the map on iPhone 5S in landscape mode is what makes me think v3.9 is better.

3) as many other users pointed out, again, please reduce the current path's thickness, since it covers the traffic color of the street and it's impossible to see it, like in the example below (note that these images show up magnified on computer screens, all dimensions are actually smaller when shown on iPhone's display


4) please refer to image of point 1): those traffic bubbles were actually on the other lane, not on mine, therefore my path was completely free of traffic. But it's impossible for the user to discern between traffic on my lane or traffic on the other one, and it would be useful to do so, since I don't care about traffic in the other lane. Where I live there are a lot of situations like that, in the morning lanes that enter the city are jammed, while the ones which exit are free.
Could it be possible for example to reduce the size of traffic bubbles if they are not on our current path? In this way one could easily understand if traffic is ahead of your way by quickly see the dimension of the bubble. BIGGER = more important = on your way, smaller = less important = not on your way.

anyway, just give us a simple switch for any of these simple things... and no one will complain about anything anymore.
