I'm having the same problem and I don't use Android Auto. I've used Waze for 6 years and hadn't had this problem until recently. I'm on a Android A10e with Verizon Wireless. I've checked all of the settings, everything is on (use bluetooth, use wireless, improve accuracy, use location all the time, etc.).

Looks like these are PHONE settings (not Waze settings) that need to be configured.

I started experiencing the "No GPS Connection" issue shortly after the upgrade to iOS11

I tried everything suggested on this and many other forums, including slapping the phone against my palm to "reset the accelerators". Strangely enough this did seem to work consistently, but the issue would re-appear a few minutes later.

One day while driving, I asked my wife to slap the phone because I could not, and she then made an (now obvious) comment. "It seems to work the moment we take it away from the car's center console.

I tested this, and as long as my wife holds the phone in her hand in the middle of the car, it keeps working without issues. When we place it back in the cradle mounted on the dash (and tested windscreen) it looses GPS connectivity. This is also the case for other navigation app like Google Maps.

I'm not aware of any plans to kick anyone out of a version of the app. In your case it might be hard to suggest a fresh install of the Waze app because I guess you don't want to move to 4.x?

From what I understand you're saying that you can navigate and get GPS for routing but only have a problem when wanting to report gas prices, correct? That's one I had not heard before :|

Let us know what happens after you try clearing the cache and if you try anything else like an app reset. I've also merged your post in a thread which groups all issues with GPS since a few years now. There might be posts about GPS problems with version 3.9 in the previous pages that could offer better tips and tricks for you.

Are you still able to search for gas stations and see/compare prices around you?

I've heard that some people were having trouble with this feature on their phones recently. If you're also affected this might be why you can't report prices.

It's a bit of an incomplete advice actually...
To explain, the app can create logs of everything it does for analysis by devs so that they can eventually find what triggered an error in the code.
However it should be mentioned that 'sending the logs' is completely useless if you don't follow the steps detailed below, which include opening a bug report and being in debug mode on the app:
