Hi,

Apologies if this has been posted but I can't find it anywhere on the forum.

For the past few weeks, since a recent update, Waze has developed a bug: When I am told instructions which have two parts, the first instruction is cut off before it has finished, making way for the second instruction. For example, what should be "in 1 mile, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A123" is now "in 1 - take the 2nd exit onto A123" or sometimes it doesn't even manage to say "in 1" just a sound of "i" !

I am using an i-Phone 5s in my Ford Mondeo with Bluetooth. The settings are set to "prefer bluetooth".

Advice gratefully received as this sudden bug is very annoying!

Is there a solution?
I don't know if it's specific to Honda, but I get the same issue when I do the hands free link.

Known issue. Thread here: viewtopic.php?f=1593&t=181825

I'm not going to give you a hard time about not searching because the thread isn't titled very well. I'll try to modify it so it'll come up in search better.

numnums wrote:Doubt its bluetooth related because instructions are missing in the middle of a sentence. Nav will say something like: "In Turn right" and completely leaves out the distance.
That has been my experience, except only when Bluetooth is on. Have you experienced this without Bluetooth?

Clearing the TTS cache does not cure the problem.

I've been experiencing the same issue with my Samsung BT earpiece.

This morning I noticed something that may be relevant... when Waze was a background app, the TTS instructions were complete. Only when Waze was in the foreground were instructions cut off/omitted.

Can anyone else try and confirm similar behaviour?

PS - When not using BT, instructions are fine with Waze in the foreground.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that you are using a Bluetooth device to receive instructions from your phone. Next time you are using Waze, turn off your Bluetooth And see if the problem goes away.

If you are using a Bluetooth, can you tell me what the model is?

I have the same issue with 3 different BT headsets, as do many others.

What model iPhone are you running waze on?
