If you find yourself in a situation where you are using both HN mode and SV at the same time, you cannot exit SV until you exit HN mode. This is because the SV exit button is under the dark bar that comes up on the top of the screen when in HN mode.

If you use WME Bookmarks and paste the link into the search bar the PLs should select. There's also a bookmarklet for re-selecting segments in the PL.
