2.41 at long last marks the start of the transition to using the new OS Open Data products. In this release, the streetname and bounding box data is derived from a combination of the Open Names and Open Roads datasets.
Other than the inclusion of names which have been added to the OS data over the last couple of years since the final release of the older format datasets, the one change that is likely to be almost immediately obvious to seasoned users of WMEOD is that the bounding boxes are now more likely to be a closer match to the corresponding segments in WME than was previously the case - the older OS datasets would provide a single bounding box to cover the entire extent of a road name within a given geographical area, whereas the newer datasets provide bounding boxes for each section of road between two junction nodes in the OS data.
As this is the first release to use the new data, I fully expect there to be some teething troubles - please let me know what you find, with permalinks if it's something that seems to be specific to a certain road/area.
