List of functional scripts

Post by AK-Wizard
Is there a list of currently functional scripts? I've looked & searched and come up empty handed. This is as close as I've come: https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Community_Pl ... nd_routing

and regrettably, it is not up to date. For example, following the trail into WME Validator it points to v.1.0.

In particular, WME Validator was a wonderful tool but I can't get it to work on any of my browsers today. Is there an alternate available for area wide validation checking?

I work on the mac and have all the browsers available. Thanks in advance for your response!

I also find it confusing. There has been a bunch of split scripts and such.

I have found the best solution is to subscribe to this forum area and keep on top of them.

I hope someone comes along with better news

So the Wazeopida page should just have a brief description and a link to the page where you can get the latest version of the script.
The problem comes in when there is a dormant script that someone else has created a fork to keep it working. Seeing as the new script writer does not have access to the old script location there is a disconnect.
The ethical question comes if they should link there page on the Wazeopida page.

I don't know?

Thanks JD

The idea was to keep the Wiki page updated as new scripts were introduced.

Maybe we just need a thread in here to have people note when they see a script NOT on that wiki page so we can add it.

I'm not sure I follow your comments. Let me propose something that I think addresses your comments as I read them.

1. New scripts are added to the wiki script page as a new script entry.
2. Basic information is required to describe the script operation. More detailed information can be added to a subpage as needed and linked on the main page.
3. I assume we can have a link to the source script that does not change as the revision changes. I see no need to include revision data information in the wiki script page, but if a major feature is added that was not in the basic description on that page, we should update the wiki entry as needed.
4. Forks to current scripts:
4a. ...that create new scripts with new functionality designed to work in parallel with the original script should get new entries on the wiki page.
4b. ...that replace the old scripts by a new author would replace the original source link. I am ok if we keep a link to the old script with a note to that effect.

There was a very cool list here:
http://code.waze.tools/home/browse.jsp

But I guess it was too hard to maintain. Most of the entries haven't been updated since 2015.
