Hi @maxnukem! Normally, the map is switched to night mode whenever the headlights are turned on. So, if it's not working this way, please open Android Auto on your cellphone and go to About/Developer Settings/Day Night and select Car-Controlled. If you don't see the Developer Settings menu, tap on About Android Auto few times, and then Deveper Mode will be activated and you will see that menu.

I have similar problem with Night Mode on my VW GOLF 2019
@georgenqueiroz - is there any other option? I`ve worked through all of Day/Night Android Auto developer settings... no result... still bright as hell all the time, even when is set on "night" and Waze on my Samsung A6+ is in permanent night mode...
PS: due to safety reasons, you are not able to change Waze settings on Android Auto.

I'm not sure there is another option. Are you using a head unit that came installed in your car? I guess there is any kind of sensor that tells the radio if the headlights are turned on or off, so that Waze will be able to switch from day to night mode whenever you turn the headlights on.

Right now I know that it propably is a VW Golf issue (I must have "over-optioned" it...), my friend who never even got to developer options on his AA and has no "need" to check all options in the car (golf same as mine) has no issue with switching into dark mode as soon as the headlights are being turned on... I must meet him and check the settings... I`ll let You know.
