I am stepping away from Waze editing. If you are interested in taking on these monthly reports, please let me know through a forum PM or Discord DM.

Summary of changes in September:
  • A new page on tolls was published, including routing effects, editing and price information.
  • Details were further specified on promotion requirements for certain ranks.
  • Information on city renaming by country managers, including resolution of naming conflicts, was added to the map editor interface page.
  • The rationale for the closed places procedure was clarified.
  • Improved guidance was given on the use of area and point places for various types of educational institutions.
  • Closure sheets are no longer used; this info was removed from the closures page.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday --

January 2020 - Summary of changes:
  • Carpool, HOV, Transit Lanes - For left lane HOV lanes - consider using separate HOV segments if there are frequent accidents or construction projects necessitating the need for RTCs
  • Partial restrictions - Changed wording to clarify that all vehicles are allowed on a segment if there are no restrictions specifying that only certain vehicles are allowed
  • Junction box - Internal turn restrictions are now visible within a Junction Box as of Jan 2020

February 2020 - Summary of changes:
  • Places - Multiple entry points are now live in the iOS version of Waze app. (No support for this feature yet in Android app)
  • Real time closures - Clarifications including segment history, closing segment that needs to be split in two, and creating roundabouts then applying closures to incoming segments
