Is there a way to use waze on a laptop with internet service

Post by usa_1t0dq56o
I am a police officer and i use waze CONSTANTLY. With me being in a new beat it is helpful learning the new roads. However anytime we get dispatched to a call i have to run waze on my phone even though it would be a lot easier to just input on my laptop and just go.

I understand you can get directions on waze.com but i think it would be a nice feature to have live maps on laptops that are able to connect to the internet.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Welcome to the forum, yes of course you could access to the Waze Map Editor and become as an editor mapping new roads.

Please contact to the respective forum of your area and read the USA Wazeopedia to get aquainted.

If you are able to install BlueStacks (Windows Android Emulator) on the Laptop you can then install waze on said laptop.

After installing BlueStacks, just follow the setup normally, search for waze in the app search, install, I don't know how accurate your location will be, I tried it on my home desktop and it was nowhere near where I actually was, however if you are using let's say a hotspot from your phone it might work better, but I can give you no promises. :D

Good Luck!

Unfortunately, it seems BlueStacks is only compatible with Windows and macOS. Do you know of anything similar for Linux laptops?

I think usa_1t0dq56o is asking about running Waze on a laptop not as an editor but as if it's running on their phone.

As far as I know, this is not supported in any way natively. Could you run an android simulator and have it running there? Maybe. I've never tried.

There is such thing as a bluetooth GPS receiver that might work with the Android emulator.
