Waze forum

Like the title says, when using Waze on Android Auto connected to my car (2018 Acura TLX) the app would lose GPS signal on a phone call. Doesn't matter if I make the call or if I get a call. Once the call is ended the GPS will be restored. The phone is a OnePlus 6t running Android 10 (OxygenOS version 10.3.3). I have tried factory resetting the phone, reinstalling/clearing cache and data for AndroidAuto, Waze and Google Maps but the problem still occurs. Very frustrating having to decide whether you should make/pickup a call when you are following directions on Waze.

Any solution for this issue?

Same issue going on for a month or two now!
Both note 9s we have act the same. We updated the SW (Waze) but still the same issue. Once you are on a call - Waze loses positioning.
This does not happen with Google Maps (same company someone?) so it is surely a software bug which must be addressed, otherwise Waze becomes useless.
Perhaps this is what Google planed for all the time when purchasing Waze.

Could it be that the GPS is lost because Waze loses focus? If you switch to another app while driving and then switch back, does the same happen?
Can you check the APN-type for your provider? Settings > Mobile network > Accesspoints > open accesspoint > APN-type. Mine is 'default,supl' and I'm losing GPS focus when switching to another app.

I've the same issue.
My solution is:
When I start android auto, I open Google maps and I wait to find my position. After i open Waze app and go.
This problem exists for a month ago.

On Galaxy S20 and Iphone XS.

Same issue with my crv 2019 and OnePlus 6t, thought I was alone on this one

That seems cell operator related, my GF have this issue as well, changing to my sim card with different cell operator solves the issue, I didn't had this issue until changed cell operator recently and now I have this issue too.
