Dear Community,

We wanted to share with you our plans to turn the Livemap into Waze's new homepage.

Analysis of our engagement metrics on the site suggested most users searching for Waze on the web are looking for navigation / direction instructions. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for these users to find what they are looking for.

Over the next few weeks we will be releasing this change and turning the Livemap into the new Waze web home. Naturally a link to our current homepage will still be available.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Wishing you all a great 2022!

This will be outstanding as long as Livemap is updated with the tile update and the search results are the same as using the app otherwise you are just going to have more upset users when Livemap doesn't match the app.

I think this is not so good idea.
Live map has a lot of problems and in my opinion can't be as face of company.
For example:
* In my country it has a lot of problems with language and search results
* it often can't build route - message: something went wrong,
* it uses wrong google routes for long distance
* It sometimes has delays with update of map

Not something everyone will care about, but Europeans might also dislike how the Livemap doesn't currently have a UI to specify which vignettes (freeway stickers) you have, therefore any country using that system instead of tolls is not seen/used by Livemap routing and results in very strange (long) routes.

We were told that there would be a UI to specify which passes you have on the Livemap for Q4 of 2019, that hasn't happened still.
There are ways to make it work by ending the livemap URL with special code similar to &pass=vignette_country which were shared with Champs to be able to test routing on the Livemap, but we were told not to share those URL links/codes because they weren't meant fo everyone or end-users.

Now would be a good time to add a sub-menu on the Livemap that takes care of this and lets people select their passes.
