14th Street Car Ban

Post by 031022c7e54d464aafb6c794418b5e62
I said " =11.0pt14th street in Manhattan NYC has restrictions on passenger cars from 6am to 10pm everyday from 3rd Avenue to 9th Avenue ".

You said " =11.0ptHi, thanks for your report here on 14th St. You are actually permitted to turn onto 14th St during all hours, however, you must make the next available right turn during the hours of 6AM - 10PM, daily. "

The problem is that on several occasions Waze had directed me to turn onto 14th St but has me going along for more than 1 right turn.

No I don't. When I'm busy driving, I have to worry about rerouting.

Thanks for your post.  I will contact the local NYC editors.  I think I see the problem but want to let them resolve it. We'll keep you posted.

Do you remember which cross streets Waze allowed you to go more than 1 turn?  There are a couple spots where this is allowed. See the graphic on this page: https://www1.nyc.gov/html/brt/html/rout ... reet.shtml

@031022c7e54d464aafb6c794418b5e62 We just tested a bunch of routes using different parts of the busway and it is working as it should in those tests. There are several spots where you're not allowed to turn right (one-ways, some others prohibited), so you are allowed to go 2-3 blocks on the busway to get to the next legal right turn.

The link below has the allowed routes directly from NYCDOT. If you go through here again, please take a look at which cross streets you go by if you can and let us know if you're getting one that doesn't match what the PDF allows.

https://www1.nyc.gov/html/brt/downloads ... -r1-p2.pdf

Alternatively, if you can remember what day and time you took the drive, you can login to the Waze Map Editor, go to the drives tab on the top left side, and you can see where you drove that day. A screenshot of your route across the busway could help us narrow down the location of the issue if there is one.
