Please keep going with this. I am not sure what happened about the L2. but I have seen some where a picture has been added and the charger seems to have been approved at the same time. This may be what has happened.

Not sure what is happening. I have Android beta and can now turn on the EV options, but then nothing further happens. I do not have the option to tell Waze I am in an EV or find any charging points. It looks like Waze have done the usual half cocked partial release.

Interesting. If I turn on EV options, I then see "EV Charging" as a button at the top if I tap on the "Where to?" search bar. It then tells me what's nearby and what connectors they have. Are you not seeing that?

I have the same version, but do not have the button you mentioned. Some while ago I also lost the ability to select petrol or diesel as the preferred fuel so I think something has gone wrong with my waze app.
 

A few EV Charger related issues:

I have just found out about the need to re-start the app to change. Mine is now working.

It has been confirmed that the EV feature has been turned on in Alpha and Beta all over the world. It is only the Production version that is held until we get to 50%

Waze have offered some help in processing the remaining EV PUR's which, after a lot of thought, we have now accepted. A team of "agents" will now be briefed about how we are doing this in the UK and should start to assist in the near future. I hope to let you know when this starts. Please keep a lookout for any new ones added which you think are incorrect, as I am sure it will take a while for these helpers to adjust from working on US ones (which they have been doing for a while now) to the UK ones.

As for progressing the numbers, do we have a breakdown of how we're doing on "Public" chargers? Given that those are the only ones that will be surfaced for the time being, shouldn't we be concentrating on those (if we aren't already) rather than checking the ones in e.g. hotel car parks which you won't be able to search for anyway? I would think that if we're nearly there on the Public ones they should switch it on, but what do I know!!

The "request" from HQ was that we processed 50% of the list so that the feature could be announced and turned on. There was no mention of which ones were needed first. Personally, I have just been clearing a county at a time, not worrying about what type they were. We are currently at a total of 38% done, so I would suspect that is only about 25% Public ones. A long way to go yet. Hopefully with the new help, who will be concentrating on public ones, we will get there soon and then be able to finish the rest in a more leisurely way.

I have seen an increasing number of users trying to attach (completely incorrect) pictures to EV points. I assume, as you say, these are even now "findable" in the production app.

Hi All, as you have noticed, we have passed the 50% point and so I would expect this to go live in the production app any time now.

As over half of the new additions each week for the past 3 weeks have being done by the HQ team who have been assigned to help us, I am sure they are aware of this and will action this when they are happy there are enough completed.

I have been processing PUR's for the past few weeks and have seen a number of the new EV points being corrected and so it looks to be working and drivers are starting to notice them (In beta at the moment). Sadly, as is a seeming increasing issue with all place points, we are getting a large number of inappropriate or blank photos being attached to the new points as well.

Again, my thanks to all those who have stayed with the project and got us to this point.
 

Just a quick update to let you all know the EV chargers went into the production version of the app in the UK sometime last week, making this project live.

Thanks to those few who kept going, while most of us fell by the wayside. Having looked at the latest results, it seems the HQ team have also stopped, or at least slowed down the "help" they were giving.

We do still need to continue adding the rest of these that are on the spreadsheet, but these can now be a lower priority, in among all the other tasks.

This problem has (finally) been understood by HQ and we were told recently that the EV's will able to be filtered out of the feed in a future update. As yet I do not know when but got the impression it will not be too far away.
