Using Waze's new EV features

Greetings Wazers!

We are very pleased to announce that Waze's new EV features have been unlocked in the following countries which have mapped over 50% of the EV Charging Stations that we released last month in PURs:
Albania
Austria
Bosnia
Brazil
Chile
Estonia
Finland
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Israel
Italy
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Mexico
Moldova
Monaco
New Zealand
Paraguay
Poland
San Marino
Serbia
Singapore
Slovakia
Sweden
UAE

To enable the feature, follow the below flow in the Settings Menu, starting from the Vehicle details tab:

To search for an EVCS venue, select EV charging in the search menu (like you would for a gas station):

You will also be able to search by plug type if you have set a default plug type in your Vehicle details settings. The app will tell you which search results are most relevant for the plug type you have selected.

Did you toggle the EV switch on first in settings? It should move the EVCS search button up and move Gas Station to the end of the list.

These sorts of search functionalities are something we plan to explore in later phases. For now our priority is on mapping, and making sure that users have enough coverage of all EVCS venues in their area before we can turn the feature on per country. 

As @jm6087 said, the best place to submit this suggestion is on Uservoice, and our team will bring it to the designers as it gains enough votes.

Hi all, 

I'm very pleased to announce that Waze EV Features have been opened to users in the United States and France for a soft opening. 

In the coming weeks we will initiate user comms once EVCS mapping has progressed a bit more, and station coverage is more balanced regionally within the countries. 

Thanks again to all who have contributed to this colossal effort! Your input on this project has touched every part of Waze, and your impact is deeply felt by hundreds of thousands of EV drivers around the world who are currently enjoying this revolutionary new feature. 

We're excited to open this feature to the rest of the world in the coming months!
