Compromise of closure by Wazefeed

Post by BtBalways
Can this be prevented?

In case it can't be viewed :
I carefully set overnight closures from Wed 20:00hrs-Thurs.06:00hrs, Thurs 20:00hrs to Fr 06:00hrs and Fri 20:00 hrs to Sat 06:00hrs
to find that Wazefeed(1) had added closure from Wed 20:00 to Fri 06:00 continuously without producing the error 'overlap timing'
and severely embarrassing me with neighbours!

Is it likely to be doing this everywhere?

Thanks.

You had beaten my various corrections, but I had already removed the rogue information and was having trouble sharing the 'proof of' image.

The overnight aspect is only visible in the added text on one.network/?134969120; it was more that the reference already existed but was overridden without the error that occurs when you do something similar manually.

In most cases, it is actually better to allow the Closure Monitor closure to take control as it will be updated be any changes from the authorities in real-time.
For Highways Agency closures, yes.  But for non HA closures, when you've carefully researched the closure and applied them, and then it gets overwritten with a # and the end time set to 23:59....thats annoying.
This! I thought the Waze rule was quality before quantity, even says in the Road Closure guide linked on the forum.
Online sources of roadworks are occasionally incorrect, and describe closures that may not happen. Try to verify the closure with multiple references, with on-site information where possible.
While I appreciate the work CM does, it is very frustrating having looked through ONE and council websites to find accurate information on a multi day closure, only for you to come back to WME a few days later to many UR's as CM has added week long 24/7 closure on a very major L4 road. (even when there's time information provided in the NCT02a box)

Wouldn't mind if it added these closures on roads where the MP hasn't been actioned for example, but adding closure on top of manually added closures is rather annoying.

Even some way of a human pressing "Yes this looks sensible" might help.
Is it possible for AMs or L4 editors to have access to this so we can do this ourselves?
This would also be nice, I know it's always been kept as a L5 Country Manager only thing which has been fine with the scope it used to have, but if it's going to act as the overruling closure lord of the UK then it would be nice to be able to interact with it a little more.  :D

It would be great if Closure monitor checked for existing closures before applying its own over the top. ie if there is are closures already set by a recognised editor CM flags it for human confirmation rather than just doing its own thing.

If you have a permalink or closure # number, then we can mark it as BAD and get the incorrect closure removed

You can blame the council for feeding us duff information. The closures on from ClosureMonitor are only ever as good as the data one.network gets sent from the councils.

If you have a permalink or closure # number, then we can mark it as BAD and get the incorrect closure removed.

I've set this closure to be "ignored" now, so your manual inputs shouldn't now be effected.

Closure Monitor won't remove any existing closures, but it's unfortunate in this instance that the overnight only timing wasn't recorded properly by the authorities.

In most cases, it is actually better to allow the Closure Monitor closure to take control as it will be updated be any changes from the authorities in real-time.
Most overnight closure don't run to the exact time e.g. 8pm-6am, but some period within that eg 8:12pm-4:40am, and allowing the auto closure to reopen the road will allow Waze to route any early commuters that way.
