Maybe I am misreading your quote, but we only use the N S E W cardinals when the road is only one direction. For two-way roads we leave it off. Part of your statement says that, but the Wiki has always said that. Therefore no change to cardinal designation.

So what did you mean here?

I assume this means because you call them State Routes it would not be confusing to move to "SR-xxx"?

Do you want to directly modify that page to reflect WA is considering the change while you poll the other editors?

In light of the increasing number of states with different conventions, I think at some point I will create a separate linked page with a table of each state and the naming convention used. Currently we only have 5-6 states with alternate naming conventions, so the list is manageable as a text entry.

Yeah, there's been no comment for weeks on it, and if anything, I'm just seeing people continue to move to this format in California. I'm going to edit the Wiki now to reflect this for US-, SR-, and CR. Viva progress! ;)

...actually maybe I won't, because for some reason I can't log into the Wiki. It's telling me 'incorrect password'. Not sure what's up with that.

Yeah, I can't see a downside here.

I'll change the page to do that now. And your idea of a table is probably a really good one! Especially because Waze's whole vision is 'Each state calls a state route what they want', so we may have numerous variations?

I sent PM's to several of the frequent NV editors in Southern NV around April 10th to let them know about the NV forum and the highway naming discussion. One of the editors responded, dbwiddis, and has been active in the discussion. No response at all from the other two.

At this point, I think that since we have major NV editors in the north AND south in agreement to adopt the new standard, that we should go ahead and adopt the new convention for NV. The primary editors that are in agreement have been myself (North), gfolk (North) and dbwiddis (South). Between us three we cover the major metropolitan areas within NV. It's not a very crowded state.

Thanks, Kent. I'll post something on the NV forum also.
