Therefore I switched to zoom by distance.
The fixed speed zooms are useless for smartphone displays.

There isn't an easy solution to import the roadshield at the moment. This have to be done by hand with lists of segment ID's. There are plans to add a feature in the future for WME.

We're discussing this quite some time for the Netherlands (since september last year or so). Waze is working on a short piece of freeway with shields. Just as test/example. But as said. It is to much work for Waze doing this by hand for every single segment.

Is it possible to get the road shields for other countries for testing in the Beta versions?

It would be great if somewhere like New Zealand could have them since there is really only one type from SH1 thru to SH99 all looking like this:

Wikipedia has an article here (and SVGs):

You could go further and have motorway exit signs, but that would only cover 2% of the roads.

Also not having these currently, what happens with the TTS when there is a road shield and a normal name? The official naming is SHxx but the TTS reads this as Shhh xx (eg. the noise you make to make someone be quite) so a Waze map editor has renamed them to State Hwy xx, which looks complex when you have a road named 'Fitzherbert East Road (State Hwy 57)'

The beta version of the Waze app now puts purple bubbles along the route containing the road name. Doesn't this make the road badges rather redundant? Do we really need both?
