We have shield setted by test in some highways.

We wait and see the new panel in future WME to see how to add them to the warious segments.

Basically shields was generated by a string and, as Alan said, the street name must be Symple and not a long complex name

Only for us this is very easy to do, as there are not so many roads and they are already marked by letter and number. Basically in roads name: A - means red shield, E - dark green and P - dark blue
Almost the same in Czech Republic. We have D[0-9]+ (red) and R[0-9]+ (blue), all have the segment type set to Freeway. There are also the the international routes E[0-9]+ (green) in parallel which are not in our map but if the shields are implemented, we will be very pleased to add them to the segment names within few days too.

As the discussion starts to be very intensive, can somebody with the champs priviledge move all the relevant posts to new thread "Route shields"?

EDIT: The only important difference is that the D/R-type shields don't have the letter while the official name is with the letter but both implementation variants are acceptable.

Theoretically yes, sure. Try to contact your community manager (or Ori?) for details.

I think most European shield do only differ in colour and the presence or absence of the letter before the number. The only 'strange' shield is the German freeway shield:

And the bubbles dissappear when travelling at higher speeds (autozoom by speed), at the same time normal streets are no longer shown. For me (small screen in landscape) that is allready at 30 kmh.
