State of play in the ACT
Hi ACT wazers,
So in general the maps here in the ACT are looking pretty good and complete. Sure there are a few things around that can be fixed and made better or at least less confusing but we'll find them in time. Most of the problems here are junctions. Sure the roads here can make it hard to draw a junction correctly but remember simpler is better. A junction like this https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=149.06 ... TT&env=row is much easier on the app and much less confusing then a junction like this https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=149.18 ... TT&env=row. If your not sure about junctions please have a look at the wiki https://www.waze.com/wiki/Junctions_and ... (Australia) as it is very handy.
One of the other things here in the ACT is that every road seems to have a left turn slip lane. remember unless it is quite a large slip lane they do not need to be drawn. Remember the KISS principle.
As usual though the main problem is that some junctions don't have the turns correctly allowed. one of the easiest ways to find them is to just turn on waze whenever your in the car. Even if you don't use it to navigate. Not only can you then notify other drivers of hazards on the road you encounter but if you go through a junction on the maps that has it's turns marked incorrectly a map update marker will show up for someone to fix in the editor.
As always stay safe out there and happy wazing.
