One of the most horrible experiences of my life was that Sibley’s ER. I’m writing this review because this is bad, inhuman, and unfair and I don’t want more people to experience this horror. I went there after experiencing sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. I was in excruciating pain. I was literally screaming. I decided to go after 24 hours of pain in my home. I’m pregnant, it was a weekend, I was terrified for my baby’s health and I can’t just take any drug. They drew blood, left me with an IV for 7 hours screaming and crying in a room. The pain was so bad, I had moments where I wished I wasn’t alive. There was only ONE doctor in the entire ER. She described my pain when I went out of the room to look for her as “discomfort”. It took the doctor 5 hours to send someone to do an ultrasound, 6 hours to give me painkillers and another hour to print out my discharge papers. I went back home physically and mentally drained. The pain was so bad that it started to spread to my sides, back, and thighs. I don’t know why it has to be this bad! Why something that could literally take 5 minutes should take 7 hours! It felt like deliberate stubbornness. Whatever she did could have been done by the many nurses staring at a computer screen silently and awkwardly while a patient next door is screaming from the pain. It felt like being in a Hunger Games movie. Read the damn RESEARCH on ER restructuring. It’s free. I can send you a copy. What a shame that this is associated with Johns Hopkins.
