Well, staying on Langkawi for the Easter weekend which is probably a very crowded period. Westin is booked out 100%, hence there will be a little queuing for breakfast (unless you are an early bird).
Scenery is fantastic and it's in walking distance to many local restaurants. There you get super tasty food at very low prices.
However, the Westin is a really nice place to stay. Building is a bit old, but well maintained so far. Pools and gardens are really kept perfectly clean!
Staff is friendly (but of course at such a weekend very busy keeping up).
I find Langkawi perfect for traveling in less touristic environments. Far less crowded than the famous places in Thailand. It's a tax free island, so the prices for most things seem to be quite reasonable, considering that all needs to be shipped in from mainland.
I'm loving it here and I will return frequently, since traveling restrictions are no longer in place....
